ABOUT
EDUCATION BY DONATION
My name is Tom Cleevely, and welcome to Rock City Music!
This project began in 2015, when I began teaching the RockBand program, as a volunteer, at the Bowden Grandview School. I discovered that I was teaching some students in the band, who were progressing quickly, and who, I believed, would flourish with private lessons. It became apparent that cost was the only factor denying them music education. I stewed about it for a week, then decided to just teach them for free. Once I made that choice, my small project became the seeds of what would become Rock City Music.
The Rock City Music School is a not for profit community organization, which teaches private lessons on Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Drums, Vocals, Theory, Studio Recording, and Songwriting. Additionally, we assemble musicians of any level into rock band ensembles. All of our services are offered strictly by donation only. Any player can have music education for free. Donations are secured primarily through our professional services in various areas, including Open Mic hosting, Karaoke hosting, Studio recording services, and bookings of the Rock City Music band, Arsiem.
Although our services are offered by donation, all lessons and ensembles are taught and coached by qualified teachers with music education in college, or practical experience as working musicians.
